RULING APRC MOUTH PIECES MAKING BASELESS AND CONTRADICTORY NOISE
Is Yankuba Touray a shameless creature? Is he taking Gambians for granted and as fools for that matter? Does he consider us as people out of touch with the Gambian realities? Making a country wide tour as one who has lost his face before Gambians and the civilized world is a surprise to most of us. Such a tour constitutes a game of taking peace loving people for a ride, thinking that we are dumped, and doomed forever.
That is unacceptable, as people of The Gambia do not deserve such a premature and unproductive leadership. For a man of his caliber, who is internationally known for nagging millions from state coffers, making such utterances will never go unchallenged. Gambia has so many gallant sons and daughters who will continue challenging, and ridiculing all such personalities in the leadership of our peace loving country. How could Yankuba campaign that, only the APRC government can maintain the peace of the country, especially when such a government is caught between lies, deception, and worst of all, committing many crimes against humanity.
Most of us are stunned with disbelief, when such murderers talk about playing a vital role in maintaining peace within the territorial boundaries of the country. Yankuba Touray’s tour would have been fruitful to a majority of Gambians, if he could have genuinely and truthfully told the poor Gambians about the brutal murder of former secretary of State for finance, the late Koro Ceesay and veteran journalist Deyda Hydara, whose ghosts continue to haunt each and every one of their respective killers. And what about our murdered student demonstrators of APRIL 10TH and 11TH 2001?
This is a regime that shall be called to ransom, as there still exists the unresolved atmosphere of crimes committed against humanity. As concerned Gambians and global citizens, we shall continue “talking all and leaving none” in the interest of making not only the Gambia, but the civilize world a safe heaven for all, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, and social background.
We could all recall when a bogus anti-corruption commission (formed with the intent of impressing global financial institutions such as the IMF and the World Bank), found the likes of Yankuba Touray (then Secretary of State for Tourism), guilty of committing economic crimes. This man was asked to pay over 2 million Gambian Dalasis, after facing the same bogus anti-corruption commission. The good question most of us are asking is, “if he did pay the sum?” After all, why is he reappointed to handle such a portfolio as Agricultural secretary of state? What a Shame!!!!!
Gambians from all walks of life must continue to know that, it is the likes of Mr. Yankuba Touray, and his boss, who are draining our resources and becoming obstacles to our beloved nation enjoying the fruits of Global financial institutions and many other aid agencies.
No one can therefore deny that, we are faced with a crisis, a crisis of integrity in our leadership, a crisis of trust and honesty, and a crisis of inefficiency and ineffectiveness in the ranks of current Gambian leadership. The momentum and the heat to eject such a regime and send them packing this year should be the responsibility of each and every one of us.
The notion of responsible and accountable governments is a notion of the 21st century that must guide the fundamental principles, norms and ethics under which our government should be elected, function and operate. As global citizens and as Gambians, we must all make this a dream come true. Exposing shady characters such as the likes of Yankuba Touray and President Yaya Jammeh is therefore a step in the right direction.
The shake up within the opposition coalition, should therefore not make the likes of Yankuba Touray, Churchill Baldeh and Gambia’s famous chameleons Isatou Njie Saidy, and Fatoumata Jahumpa to start making endless and unnecessary noise. Gambians must remain poised, because all such personalities constitute only a “National Disgrace” and an “International Insult” to us as Global citizens. The writings that their regime is a dead, one are clear on the walls, and they must therefore stop making baseless and contradictory noise.
